Love Dances

Demeaned, depreciated, belittled, the not-normal, the others.
In their differences, six artists unite to dance their own Love Stories.

What would a Love Story look like if it was told by people who exist in the margins?

Love_Dances is a new contemporary dance piece by Adam Russell Dance that has been devised, created and choreographed over 2020 here in Hartlepool.

Six artists, dancers and non-dancers, came together in halls, dance studios and even on beaches across Teesside and the wider North East to talk about Love.

These films explore two of those stories.

In those halls, in those studios and on those beaches, six artists wrote their own love stories. Each of the performers acknowledged their existence in the margins and took the bold step to share the experiences of Love.

Love_Dances explores the universality of Love, charting the highs and lows of finding, keeping and experiencing Love as people living in the margins.

Love_Dances will eventually tour to outdoor venues and festivals, hopefully in 2021.
