A collaborative arts project between Wintertide Festival and Hartlepool Borough Council’s Youth Services.
The Stand Together Group are a group of young people who have come together who meet weekly at Throston Youth Project to explore and highlight social injustice in the modern world. The main focal point of their year is Holocaust Memorial Day. The national theme of HMD is ‘Be the Light in the Darkness’. The young people would like to explore this theme from the perspective of being an active bystander, speaking out in a safe way when you see injustice. They have created the term ‘Upstander’ for people who are able to do this. These three pictures have been chosen by the young people from a collection they have produced.
The Stand Together Group is part of Hartlepool Borough Council’s Youth Service.
