Created in November 2020, Rock and Stone is inspired by community conversations about the rich culture of storytelling in Hartlepool. Special thank you to John Cambridge for all of his support.
“Upon speaking to a member of the Headland History Group, we could tell how proud these people were of the stories told in Hartlepool. We chose the story of the elephant rock due to the strong images we could use to tell it. We used shadow puppetry to give the story a mysterious atmosphere.” (Team Shadows, 2nd Year Acting students, Northern School of Art)
‘Creating with the community’
Wintertide is an independent community festival which takes place in and around the streets on the Hartlepool Headland, a coastal town steeped in history, heritage, culture and folklore.
The festival took place over an extend period 20th- 29th November, consisting of a self-led art trail, carefully designed to allow social bubbles to take in the art works whilst on a scenic walk around the headland. The live film & dance screenings are now available to view on our Exhibitions page as well as downloadable activities to try.
