Where Hope Shines is a creative exploration of emotion and light, where students transformed words such as love, compassion, hope, and gratitude into luminous works of art. Drawing inspiration from constellations, the project celebrates how these universal feelings connect us - just as stars connect across the night sky.
Each piece reflects a personal interpretation of kindness and positivity, reminding us that even in darkness, light always finds a way to shine through.

About the artists and work
This is part of the 12°N Project, which embeds local artists within Hartlepool communities to co-create inclusive, imaginative activities shaped by residents’ interests and lived experiences. This year, the project celebrates the theme of Constellations, a reflection of creativity, community and unity. Just as stars form patterns in the night sky, Wintertide Festival seeks to illuminate the power of connection: between people, places and stories.
Accessibility and suitability
We can not guarantee that events have step-free access as it is situated within a heritage site. The festival has accessible toilet facilities and is largely designed to be suitable for all ages and needs. Please check individual events for content warnings and age restrictions.
